Healthy life style

We understand by healthy lifestyle those habits of our daily life that help us to stay healthier and with fewer functional limitations . To lead a healthier life we ​​must focus mainly on two aspects: our diet and physical exercise.


THE DIET

What do we call a healthy diet?

It is the one that covers our vital needs without the use of food that can be harmful to our body.


A healthy diet should have the following characteristics:


.Include five daily servings between fruits and vegetables.

.Daily consumption of cereals and starches.

.Twice a week it is recommended to eat oily fish.

.Use red meat (veal) in a restricted way, preferring the consumption of chicken, rabbit or .turkey. In general, we eat more meat than recommended.

.Reduce animal proteins in favor of cereals and starches. Cereals are rich in iron, calcium, .folic acid and vitamins. It is scientifically proven, according to the American Cancer .Association, that basing a diet on a wide variety of plant foods reduces the risk of serious .chronic diseases. The starches and flours must be integral, when refining them, the shell is .removed, which is precisely the place that contains the vitamins and nutrients.

.Use olive oil in a limited amount (the equivalent of a tablespoon of soup a day), the food .itself already contains fat.

.Avoid cooking food with oil (fried or battered), steaming, oven or grill cooking being preferable.

.Avoid precooked food .



PHYSICAL EXERCISE

Physical exercise is recommended for two main reasons:

  • We activate the circulatory system, improving the proper blood supply to the body, reducing blood pressure figures and raising the cholesterol that we familiarly call "good", which generally reduces the possibility of cardiovascular problems. We also facilitate the venous circulation of the legs, avoiding varicose veins, fluid retention, etc.

  • When we move, our flexibility also increases, reducing the stiffness that we suffer over the years, which makes us less agile; and we maintain muscle tone. All this reduces clumsiness, fatigue and physical limitations in general.


IN SUMMARY

Let's be aware of our diet, the foods that benefit us and, after a good meal, ...... let's move! If you can with regulated exercise better, but if we don't walk... let's walk through our beautiful city!
