The Future of Sex Education Initiative (FoSE) seeks to create a national dialogue about the future of sex education and promote the institutionalization of education  comprehensive sexual education in public schools. They pioneered the development of the National Sexuality Education Standards  , the National Teacher Preparation Standards  , and many other tools and materials to strengthen the implementation of comprehensive sexuality education and professional development.

The SIECUS Guidelines for Comprehensive Sexuality Education (   website available in English), which were developed by a special task force made up of experts in the fields of adolescent development, the health services and education for adolescents. These guidelines provide a general framework with the key concepts, themes and messages that all comprehensive sexuality education programs should ideally include.
